Our garments are made with natural fibers — GOTS certified organic cotton, RWS certified merino wool, and Masters of FlaxFibre certified linen. These are living materials: well cared for, they improve with time. These are the guidelines we recommend so that your garment stays with you for years.

The Essentials

  • Wash less. Natural fibers refresh themselves. Airing the garment for a few hours is usually enough between uses.
  • Cold water, max 30 °C. Heat shrinks and dulls color.
  • Inside out. Protects embroidery, prints, and the surface appearance.
  • Short, gentle spin cycle. Fewer wrinkles and less tension on seams.
  • Never tumble dry. It's the most common cause of shrinkage and deformation.
  • Neutral detergent, no bleach or fabric softener. Fabric softener coats the fiber and reduces its breathability.

Organic Cotton (GOTS)

Machine wash at 30 °C, gentle cycle, inside out. Dry flat or on a hanger, in the shade: direct sun causes fading. Iron at medium temperature, always inside out, and avoid ironing over prints or embroidery. It may release some color in the first washes; wash separately from light-colored garments.

Merino Wool (RWS)

Merino is naturally odor-resistant: airing it is often enough. When it's time to wash, use the wool program or hand wash in cold water with specific wool soap, without rubbing or wringing. Remove excess water by pressing with a towel and dry flat, never hung, to prevent deformation. Store folded, not on a hanger. If small pills appear, remove them with a fabric shaver: this is normal for wool and disappears with use.

Linen (Masters of FlaxFibre)

Wash at 30 °C, gentle cycle, and a loose load: linen needs space. Dry in the shade and remove while still slightly damp. If you want to iron it, do so with the garment damp and a hot iron with steam. Linen's wrinkles are not a defect: they are part of its character.

Stains

Act as soon as possible. Blot with a clean cloth without rubbing and rinse with cold water from the reverse side of the fabric. Avoid chlorine-based stain removers. If the stain is oil-based or persistent, take the garment to a dry cleaner and explain the composition.

Storage

Fold knitwear and wool garments; use hangers only for shirts and jackets. Store in a dry, airy place. For off-season storage, keep clean wool (moths are attracted to sweat and food residues) in a cotton bag, with cedar or lavender, never in sealed plastic.
